Bummis Super Brites- a good fit for my toddler5
PLEASE READ MY UPDATED COMMENT!!! I WOULD NOW RATE THESE COVERS AT ONLY 2 STARS!

I started cloth diapering my 21 month old a few weeks ago and chose a variety of diaper covers to try out over prefolds. The Bummis Super Brite has been my favorite for my toddler- it fits well over the prefold even with the prefold folded up extra in the front. I don't use a snappi or pins to keep the cloth diaper in place. Instead, I just fold up the cloth diaper and lay it on top of the Bummis cover, and add a strip of fleece on top (to keep the moisture off of my baby's skin), lay it all under my baby, and velcro it together just like a disposable. When I change her, I just take out the wet cloth prefold inside, wipe out the Bummis cover if necessary, and stick a new prefold inside, (unless it's a poopy diaper- then you need to make sure you close the velcro closures and stick it in your dry diaper pail to be washed in the next 48 hours or so).

I really like how this cover fits my daughter- there are no gaps, and I am able to get the prefold in place without parts of it poking out of the cover and causing leaks. She remains leak-free even as she runs around the house and climbs on the furniture.

The colors are fun. My daughter enjoys having "yellow" or "pink" to wear. People have commented that her diapers are cute when she's worn this cover.

I also like that this cover (in medium size) fits a wide range. I am able to use it with my 5 month old as well, (although with my younger baby, I prefer "Prowraps", which are more affordable and seem to really keep in the leaks with a breastfed only baby... they have a lot of bang for the buck).

So if you're looking for a fun and brite diaper cover to use over your Chinese prefolds, and don't want to have to use a Snappi or pins, I would reccomend this cover.

Pretty, cheap, and relatively effective3
These wraps are very nice looking and they have an extra little flap around the thigh holes to keep things in, which I like a lot. They are also not too costly compared with the other covers I have looked at. However, the fabric around the thigh holes wicks the wettness out and onto the baby's clothes if you don't change the diaper immediately after the baby wets. Because of this, I don't use these covers overnight, rather, I stick to the old fashioned vinyl pants over a pinned diaper. Also, you aren't supposed to have to pin the diaoer under these covers, but just fold the diaper into a rectangle and fasten the wrap over it. But, I find that my 2 month old wiggles enough to get the daiper all bunched up between her legs so that poop gets everywhere and I can't reuse the cover until its washed. I tried pinning the daiper like I do under the vinyl pants but that makes it too bulky around the thighs for the wrap to cover it. The best solution I have come up with is to flare out the front and back of the diaper so that it wraps snugly around the baby's waist and then carefully wrapping the cover around her waist over top and then fastening it. This works pretty well but it takes a little longer to change the diaper. Overall i like these covers, but I haven't decided whether or not to buy the next size up. I am hoping they work a little better when my baby gets bigger and fills them out more.

favorite prefold covers5
These are by far my favorite prefold covers - comfy for baby, easy to care for, durable, and no leaks so far. Even with the extra-smalls a dipe and a multi-layer doubler were no problem to squeeze in for naps. The edging has pilled-up a teeny bit, but I think this has been remedied with newer batches of covers (a friend is a tester for Bummis, and has some of the newer pill-free ones). Super whisper wraps come in at a close second, but I like the extra gusset on these.
